How to Lose Weight

I have a closet full of clothes & most of them did not fit. I had gradually gained about 20 pounds that caused me to buy new clothes in a larger size but I could not throw the old ones away. I knew that what I really wanted was to drop the extra weight, not buy clothes for a fatter person.

I had a good diet plan. I got it from a nutritionist. OK. She said if I followed it I would be on a balanced diet with plenty of good vitamins & would feel better most of the time.

But I could not stick to it.

Until?

After all the frustration of trying to lose weight it is fantastic to learn there is a way for us to make our favorite diet work?just as promised in the ad, & also a way to make our weight-loss stick so we will not regain what we have lost.

I am not a nutritionist so I am not giving diet advice. All I know about a good diet is that it should be balanced. My nutritionist friend told me so. And I have found that foods that are low on the glycemic index give me lasting energy & do not generate more hunger (According to The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet insulin created by the body when we eat high carbs causes us to be hungrier.)

What happened that made it possible for me to lose the weight I wanted off was to begin doing daily affirmations.

I was amazed!

It was like? Suddenly I had will power!

No? not really like that.

It was like? ?This is so easy. Why have not I done this before??

I started one evening. I sat down & wrote out some affirmations about weight-loss & then I put on some soft music for the background & I read ten repetitions of the affirmations aloud to myself.

The next morning I was searching through my files & my bookcase for the diet information I needed.

I started the diet once again & once again just hoping I could stick completely to it this time. It just worked! Instead of fighting my self about choosing good foods & appropriate serving sizes I found it effortless to do the right thing. In fact it was pure pleasure knowing I was winning & it was easy.

Here are the affirmations I use & I found that after three weeks I truly changed my habits.

I now weigh ____and it pleases me.
I love being slim & lithe.
I am happy :) that I have a ___ inch waist.
Proteins & greens are what really taste good to me.
I am proud of myself for doing what it takes to reach my ideal weight.
I am so good to myself. I eat only foods advised by my diet plan.
I delight in the flavors of foods that are good for me.
I am satisfied with serving sized that will maintain my weight of ___.
I now regularly get plenty of exercise.
I love to exercise.
It is so easy to lose weight & love doing it.
I am so happy :) that all my excess fat is disappearing.

After all the trying, & all the crying, & all the chewing myself out for being weak, & not being able to stay on the diet I am 20 pounds lighter & I just needed to tell some one about it.
